Last September 20, I made a donation to Caritas Manila. I had no idea they'll be giving me such a nice plaque of appreciation. I was really touched when they handed it to me.
It was a good thing I saw their van enter the compound because I was already on my way out. I wanted to make sure that everything would be okay so I stepped out of the car to personally attended to them.
I donated ten (10) full bags of handmade soap scraps and the men who were loading them looked very happy. They (including the driver) kept saying "Thank you po." with a big smile on their faces. That moment was very heart-warming.
It felt really good to make such a donation to charity. You should try it! Choose an organization whose mission statement you support and believe in -- saving the environment, supporting animal rights, helping the poor, making the aged happy, bringing street children back to school, etc. You won't only make some difference, but you'll also feel an instant "high" once you make the move.
I've made donations of my handmade soaps to different organizations in the past and the feeling just gets better and better, especially when you receive messages for them saying that your donation has made people (and animals) very happy.
Go try it and FEEL for yourself!
