As a mom, these are the three (3) major things I always watch out for for my kids. I know it's not 100% guaranteed but I'm the type of mom who believes in prevention and in investing on our boys' health and safety. In this post, I also share what BY NATURE 100% Natural Products I use for the different conditions, especially during this prolonged wet season. AID I just don't know how many times Cold Salve has saved us from having to go to the ER in the wee hours of the morning, but it has!
What I do is apply Cold Salve on their chests and backs then put a little right below their nostrils. If they want a massage, I mix a little Baby Oilotion with the salve so it's easier to rub. Once they're asleep, I make sure to check if they're breathing through their nose or mouth. If through the nose, I can have peace of mind and sleep better myself. PREVENT
In my younger years, I've personally used a few products with this chemical in them for anti-bacterial purposes. But I sure am glad I didn't get overzealous in using them then (since they smelled so good!). Now, with kids of my own, I make sure that they don't use those products to clean their hands. Disnifect It! Spray is what I always use on them instead. It is water-based and is made with the purest and toughest essential oils that fight and kill germs. Then again, nothing beats getting rid of germs better than simply washing our hands with soap and water. If we just all do out part in training our children and all our house members to practice this diligently, the chances of spreading and acquiring germs and diseases will be brought to a minimum. How great is that?! The kids get sick less and us parents spend less on check-up fees and remedies/medicines. Even hospitalizations can be prevented! I may sound like a broken record to my kids and hubby (including our nannies) but I don't mind at all if it means preventing them from getting sick or passing it on to others. These are the times when I remind them to wash their hands:
So remember...
PROTECT There's dengue alert once more! I had all our screens with holes fixed already. A few months back, I bought a number of mosquito swatters (the racket type) and electronic fly and mosquito killers (those with blue lights). But I know that those are still not enough to protect the kids from getting bitten by mosquitoes. I have Moisturizing Insect Repellent applied on them before going out of the house. What I really like about it is that it doesn't contain citronella, the scent is pleasant, and it works!
DL2 is the type who attracts mosquitoes (to bite him). If there was one (1) mosquito with the five (5) of us in a room, it will surely go straight to him and not bother biting the rest of us (maybe DL3 as well 'coz he seems to be like his brother). So, I really make sure that he is even more protected. He wears long socks all the time when he goes out and always has Moisturizing Insect Repellent on him, especially during the rainy season.
Unluckily, his body overreacts to insect bites. Once he gets bitten, it would swell up and become warm to the touch. What soothes and eases the itch and pain for him is Baby Salve. He knows to look for it once he discovers that he has a new bite. It subsides the swelling and hastens the healing. I hope that these products bring aid, prevention, and protection for you and your family as they have been doing so with mine. |

Whenever my kids have colds and stuffy nose, it relieves them while they're asleep at night. For a mother of asthmatic kids, it matters a lot that they get to breath through the nose, especially while they're sleeping. Why? Because when the throat gets too dry from breathing through the mouth, they usually end up having barking or
