(In Disneyland's Adventureland area)

First week of December, my family and I had a 5-day vacation in chilly Hong Kong.  It was around 16 to 17 degrees Celsius the whole time we were there and it was the best time to test (for myself and my family) how my products worked in cold-weather places.  

From experience, I knew my hands and lips would get very dry and chapped (and painful!) if I didn't keep them moisturized.  Of course, I didn't want my kids to go through such discomfort and pain, so I packed and brought along all my moisturizing products.

These were my cold-weather partners and I had them with me all the time:

  Balm of Butter

I put some in a smaller jar and kept it in my bag.  It came very handy whenever my hands got extremely dry (to the point that they would already hurt when I made a fist!).  Of course, I didn't wait for them to chap so I applied Balm of Butter often and I got instant relief.  I also applied a lot of it before bedtime which helped my hands feel softer again the next day.  My boys got their dose of Balm of Butter, too, on their faces.  I applied it on them as soon as I noticed any sign of dryness or roughness.  It kept their cheeks from getting all reddish and irritated, phew!

  Baby Salve

Another skin saver!  Together with Balm of Butter, I applied Baby Salve on the dry patches on my kids' faces.  I also used this on my cuticles (this or Balm of Butter, whichever I got first when I dug in my bag).  There were also some inevitable accidents that happened during the trip.  My nephew bumped his head on a furniture and got a huge lump.  We had nothing with us for lumps or bruises and we were in Disneyland then.  So after rubbing some ice on the area, I massaged Baby Salve on it.  Surprisingly, the following day, the lump was gone!  My dad, on the other hand, got bruised on his knee.  I massaged it as well with Baby Salve and his felt some relief right after.  His knee was completely better after a week.  In times like those, I had to be resourceful and use whatever I had.  I was sooo glad I always had them with me!

  Lippy Pot Balm

This product was one of my favorites during the trip!  Aside from using it all the time, I applied it often on my boys, too.  Whenever my older son complained that his lips hurt, after I applied this, he instantly stopped complaining.  This was also the first time I didn't get chapped lips myself while in Hong Kong in December.  I'll never forget the terrible feeling of having very dry and chapped lips, with redness lining the outer part!  I'm just so glad that it's never happened to me again, not with Lippy Pot Balm around! 

  Sunblock Away

Walking around Disneyland during a sunny day would’ve been a nightmare if it weren't for Sunblock Away.  Though the weather was still cool during the daytime, the sun was still strong enough to let your exposed skin feel warm.  I didn't take any chances.  I applied Sunblock Away on my face, neck, and hands everyday.  On my face, it worked so well as a moisturizer, too!  I applied it under my mineral make-up and I loved how it gave me a dewy finish.  At the end of a looong day, my face was neither oily nor dry.  I also knew that, with this product, my kids were well protected from the sun's harmful rays.

Of course, my handmade soaps for bath and hand soap (I swear, having used my handmade soaps for this long now makes using hotel soaps such a skin-drying experience).

I also used Facial Oil In One on my face every night.

Disinfect It! Spray came very handy for almost the entire trip!  It really made me worry less about my kids catching something during the trip since we were always on the go.

My family, most especially our kids, truly enjoyed the vacation.  As for me, despite the "little difficulties" being abroad with two (2) very active and excited boys, I was able to enjoy the trip as well!  Not worrying about things I could have worried about (like chapped lips, dry skin, sunburn, rashes, catching a virus or bacteria, etc.) was really cool!
