![]() Last Saturday, we attended the wedding reception of our ninang's daughter who is based in Canada. It was the second time we attended a wedding reception of a daughter of hers and my second time to do the souvenirs. The first daughter's motif was burgundy and now it was pink.
They gave souvenirs to both the men and the women so I took a picture of what my husband and I received that night. Actually, I felt kinda awkward being given the souvenir I made. But it was nice overhearing the people in our table saying things like: Guest 1: "Mmmm...mabango ito <this smells good> (reads the label)...ah, Gentle Lavender. Ano sa 'yo <what's yours>?" Well, I didn't want to eavesdrop the whole time so I resumed eating my dessert. But what really made my night was, when we were leaving, we congratulated the newly weds, the parents of the groom, and our ninong and ninang and she said thank you to me. She didn't have to mention it but I knew it was for the souvenirs I made. I saw she was happy with them. Ninang ordered a total of 300 pieces at first, then had an additional of 100 pieces made. I used light and medium shades of pink for the wrapper, fuchsia for the ribbon, and a silver bead for the accent. It turned out simple but very nice (which is my kinda style). ![]() I suggested the following scents for the souvenirs:
I remember that day when I was taking these pictures (the one with the souvenirs on the table and in the box) and doing quality control, our eldest son came down from our room looking for me and to check on what I was doing. Then he saw the camera and wanted to take pictures himself. So I taught him the following: A) What button to press to take the shots and how to preview them B) How to center the subject being taken C) Not to move while taking the shot D) To always put the strap around his neck while using the camera (which was quite big for his little hands) so it won't fall Well, he managed to do instructions A and D, but for B and C, see for yourself below. These were just some of the 50 plus shots he took that afternoon (I had to get the camera from him already because he wouldn't stop snapping away):
When he discovered he could actually take photos of his feet, he did almost 10 straight shots of them, all from the same angle.
He had difficulty centering subjects that were high, since the camera was quite heavy for him, hence, my body shot without a head.
This came out nice, though, because I put on the flash, but I also had to turn it off after a while for our son went "click, click, click" non-stop. By the way, this is our dachshund, Zeus. He was born 1998 and has been with me ever since. He was my first "baby". In 1999, my husband (then, my boyfriend) met Zeus and, since then, treated him like his own, too.
This was also another good shot, considering it had no flash. This one is Jupiter, our second "baby". We got him July of 2004, before our eldest son was born (less than 4 months after). My husband and I are both dog-lovers, especially of dachshunds. They're playful and malambing. If only we could have more. So, what do you think of the pictures? Not bad for a kid who was almost 2 years and 9 months old then, huh? Every now and then our little photographer still takes pictures of us and of his feet as well. |
